The function of the oil pump is to increase the oil pressure to a certain level and forcibly deliver it to the moving surfaces of various engine parts. The oil pump structure can be divided into two types: gear type and rotor type. The gear oil pump is further divided into internal gear type and external gear type, with the latter generally referred to as the gear oil pump.
It is a component used to increase oil pressure and ensure a certain oil volume, forcibly supplying oil to various friction surfaces. Internal combustion engines widely use gear and rotor type oil pumps. Gear oil pumps have a simple structure, are easy to manufacture, operate reliably, have a long service life, and provide high oil pressure, thus being widely used. Rotor pumps have complex rotor shapes, often made by powder metallurgy pressing. These pumps have the same advantages as gear pumps but feature a compact structure and small size.
